Day 23
Finding Real Peace
Conflict seems to be a daily onslaught coming from the news media or from our personal encounters. From the war in Ukraine to the potential for food shortages in the USA, most people are looking for a place of peace. Too sad that most people are looking in the wrong place. King David expressed this longing for a place of peace.
Psalm 55:4-8 (CSB) My heart shudders within me; terrors of death sweep over me. 5Fear and trembling grip me; horror has overwhelmed me. 6I said, “If only I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and find rest. 7How far away I would flee; I would stay in the wilderness. 8I would hurry to my shelter from the raging wind and the storm.”
Whether escaping to a crowded Disney location or to a secluded wilderness cabin, peace is not discovered there. No, peace is not found in a place but in a person!
Philippians 1:2 (CSB) Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 26:3-4 (NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! 4Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.
Philippians 4:7 (CSB) And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Only God the Father through Jesus Christ can provide peace. God provides peace but we must incorporate that peace into our lives. There are four aspects to this promise of peace.
We will not be able to comprehend the peace we experience in our hearts and our minds, but peace will be there. It is a gift from God.
Keep in mind that peace is not in a place but in a person! God our Father through Jesus Christ His son!

Only God the Father through Jesus Christ can provide peace. God provides peace but we must incorporate that peace into our lives. There are four aspects to this promise of peace.
- Peace only comes from God the Father through Jesus.
- We must fix our thoughts on His promises found in the Bible. Trust God and trust His Word.
- God’s peace will guard our hearts. Our emotions will not get out of control.
- God’s peace will guard our minds. We will make wise mental decisions because our emotions are not controlling our lives.
We will not be able to comprehend the peace we experience in our hearts and our minds, but peace will be there. It is a gift from God.
Keep in mind that peace is not in a place but in a person! God our Father through Jesus Christ His son!
