Day 4

 “What Can We Believe?”

We are living in perilous times. The fact is our post-Christian culture wants us to go from crisis to crisis keeping us fearful and obedient. This is not a political statement.

2 Timothy 1:7 (CSB) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

Fear, doubt, and uncertainty are weapons in the arsenal of Satan. If he can keep us in fear of the future, we will tend to make panic decisions. Too often a panic decision is a bad decision.

But what about the war in Ukraine? What about the news headlines that China will invade Taiwan? Isn’t COVID still bringing death to many of those infected? None of these caught God by surprise. In fact, He knew these were coming.

Matthew 24:6-8 (CSB) You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these events are the beginning of labor pains.

Yes, God knew all this over 2,000 years ago. Not only did He know about these events, but He also told us how to live and prosper through them.

We cannot just say, “Don’t think about these things.” You cannot simply not think about something! However, we can let God’s Word replace fear with faith.

Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

God said we go through dark valleys. He also reassured us that we would not be stuck in the dark valleys, and we would not walk through them alone! God is always with His children. There is no reason to be afraid! You can believe Him!

When we hear of wars and COVID variants, let us not panic or be afraid. God is with us always. You have His Word on it!
