Day 3

The Promise to Hear

Do you find it as frustrating as I do when you are interrupted in a face-to-face conversation while the person you are talking to stops and answers their phone or looks at a text? That person may say, “Please keep talking,” but you know they are not really listening.

Perhaps you may think that God is not listening to you either. How can you be sure that God is hearing you when you pray? Well, you have God’s Word that He hears you when you pray.

1 John 5:14-15 (CSB) And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him.

If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. That is God’s promise. But are we asking according to His will? God answers that as well.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NLT) Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

If my people = True Believers are the real Christians.
humble themselves = God is our supply. All our needs are beyond

                                            our ability to meet.
pray = Thank God, glorify God, then ask God.
seek my face = Repent of sin and selfishness.
turn from their wicked ways = Stop doing things your way and live                                                                                                           according to God’s Word.
God will hear our prayer, forgive our sins, heal us, and bless us!

God is always ready and willing to hear your prayer. Are you willing to ask God’s way? 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting gives us a great beginning!
