Day 13
Freed from the Fear Prison!
Our entire nation is being held captive in “the world is coming to an end” fear prison. The daily news cycle provides us a disconcerting hour-by-hour bad news tsunami of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, possible expansion of the war into Europe, nuclear bomb fears, inflation, new COVID variants, increased community violence, and food shortages. It is as if we are held in a prison of fear.
“So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was praying fervently to God for him.” Acts 12:5 (CSB)
The last half of this verse is powerful! But the church was praying fervently [Greek ἐκτενής: without ceasing] to God for him. God’s people were interceding without ceasing for Peter!
“Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the cell. Striking Peter on the side, he woke him up and said, ‘Quick, get up!’ And the chains fell off his wrists. … 11When Peter came to himself, he said, ‘Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp…” Acts 12:8,11a (CSB)
God’s people prayed and God sent His angel to deliver Peter. Five times the Bible records where God sent His mighty angel. God sent His angel and Daniel was delivered from prison. God sent His angel and Lot was delivered from Sodom. God sent His angel to minister to John in exile and to Jesus after His encounter with satan in the wilderness.
We are seeking a miraculous deliverance from the fear prison and real dangers. Let God’s people pray without ceasing that God will rescue His people, our nation, and the world from self-destruction! We need God’s Angel of Deliverance! God is our only hope!
