Two First Baptist Church/Lakefront Church Deacons have been named Coach of the Year in Sarasota County.
Craig Faulker was named Coach of the Year in High School Baseball with a 26-4 record and the 7A Divisional title. Coach Faulkner has led the Venice High School baseball team to secure 6 State Championships and is a member of the Florida High School Coaches Hall of Fame.
Charlie Powell was named Coach of the Year in High School Track, leading the Venice High School Track Team to the 4A District and 4A Regional Titles. Coach Powell was brought out of retirement to lead the Venice High Track Team in 2024.
