Pastor Tom Hodge
Pastor Tom became a Christian at age 9 in his home church in Gadsden, Alabama. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology at the University of West Florida only to be called by God to switch his fishing from fish to folks. It was then that he pursued and earned a Master of Theology degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Pastor Tom served as an Associate Pastor in Kenner and Lafayette, Louisiana. His first pastorate was First Southern Baptist Scottsdale, Arizona. Pastor Tom is married to his high school sweetheart, Tassie. They have been blessed with 4 sons, 4 daughters-in-love, and their newest bundles of joy, a grandson, and granddaughters. Pastor Tom enjoys studying, spending time with his family, fishing and playing golf!
Dr. Steve White
Originally from Michigan, Steve grew up as a missionary kid in Nigeria. Traveling with a Christian music group, he has been involved in short-term mission trips all over the world. He has been in full-time ministry for almost thirty years. Steve’s heart is for the church and its leaders to be all that Christ has called them to be. As Executive Pastor, he is responsible for the operational aspects of the church, including pastoral and support staff, ministry programming, office management, finance and facility. Steve loves reading (almost anything), traveling (almost anywhere) and sharing ministry with his wife Leanne. Their daughter Nicole and son Jared are both in college.
Rev. Matthew McKenzie
Pastor Matt and Susan have been married since 2001 and have three children Josiah, Amelia, and Ella Grace. Matt became a believer at the age of 18. His education includes a B.A. of Arts in Music and Education from Marshall University; Kentucky Institute for International Studies – Salzburg, Austria and a Master of Religious Arts in Worship, graduating summa cum laude from Liberty University. Pastor Matt has served churches in Kentucky, West Virginia and North Carolina in the capacities of Worship, Christian Education and Administration and also as Senior Pastor. He believes that “Worship is the inward and outward response to the majestic wonder and splendor of a perfect, holy and righteous God. Therefore, worship is the way we live out, as Christians, the Christ-centered and Christ-directed life each day.” Pastor Matt would love for to hear from you.
Director of Children's Ministry
Heather trusted Jesus as Savior at the age of 5 and at age 16 said, “Yes”, to God’s call to ministry. Growing up in a ministry family, Heather gained an undeniable heart for ministry. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Education from The Baptist College of Florida and a Master of Arts degree in Intercultural Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Heather has served in Africa, Alabama, Florida, and North Carolina. She came to First Baptist in March of 2015 and loves the families of Anchored Kids Ministry. In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband Matt and other family, being crafty, exercising, and visiting her favorite mouse in Orlando.
