SCHOOL of the MUSIC ARTS

We offer private and group music lessons/classes for adults and children 3rd - 12th grades on the island campus of First Baptist Church Venice, FL by experienced and professional musicians who are devoted to sharing their God-given talents with the local community.

GROUP LESSONS/CLASSES

Weekly Group Lessons are offered for all beginners of the instruments listed below and for vocal choir, as well as, handbells. Group Lessons/Classes last for 60 minutes. Group lessons help reduce anxiety, teach cooperation and communication, healthy competition, self-confidence, and reinforce motivation. We offer group lessons in the following areas:
Vocal Choir, Handbells, Violin, Viola, Cello, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Flute, Clarinet, and Guitar.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private Lessons are offered to students weekly (30, 45 or 60 minutes) in the following areas:
Violin, Viola, Cello, Trumpet, Trombone, Flute, Saxophone, Oboe, Clarinet, Guitar (Acoustic & Bass), Drums, Piano, and Voice

SEMESTER

  • SEP 12 -  (TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS)
  • Make-up Week for PRIVATE ONLY: DEC 5-9
  • No make-up lessons for Group Lessons
  • Monthly payments are due: SEP 2, OCT 2, NOV 2, & DEC 2
  • Recitals on DEC 3

REGISTRATION & FEES

  • Registration fee of $15 per semester.
  • PRIVATE LESSONS
    • 30 minutes - $448 ($112 per month)
    • 45 minutes - $588 ($147 per month)
    • 60 minutes - $728 ($182 per month)
  • GROUP LESSONS/CHOIRS
    • 60 minutes - $200 (monthly installments not available)
    • Vocal & Handbell Choirs do not have to purchase additional music/supplies 
  • Tuition for private lessons will be invoiced monthly; however, you may pay in full at any time.
  • When your registration is complete, you will be matched with an instructor, day and time (TUESDAYS or THURSDAYS). AWelcome Letter will be emailed giving you all those details.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

  • Students/Parents are responsible for contacting the School of Music if a private lesson is going to be missed.
  • Contact information will be provided in the Welcome Letter.
  • Make-up lessons will be offered during Make-up Week (DEC 5-9).
  • No make-up lessons will be given due to late or outstanding payments.
  • Due to the dynamics of group lessons/classes, make-up lessons or refunds will not be offered.

INSTRUMENTS & SUCH

The School of Music Arts does not provide or rent instruments. Students are expected to provide their own instruments and any necessary accessory. Your instructor will guide you in that process. Additionally, your instructor will tell you which music or theory books to purchase for your group or private lessons. There are pianos on-site for private lessons, as well as handbells. Those enrolling in choir will be provided music as part of their fees.

ROOMS/FACILITIES

All lessons and classes will be offered on the island campus of First Baptist Church of Venice, FL (312 Miami Ave, West, Venice, FL 34285).  There will be a parent waiting area outside of each teaching studio and guest WiFi is available. A campus map and directions will be included in your Welcome Letter.

CHILD PROTECTION

The safety of our students is one of our highest priorities. Because of that, ALL lessons/classes will take place on the campus of First Baptist Church Venice. Rooms where lessons/classes are offered have windows and video surveillance for the protection of instructors and students. Prior to the hiring of our instructors, they must successfully complete a background check.
